How to Install Your New Lightroom Presets (iPhone, Android & Desktop)

📱 Mobile Users (iPhone & Android)

Use the DNG Files

These are the files ending in .dng and they work on any phone using the free Lightroom Mobile app.

Step-by-Step (iPhone & Android)

  1. Download the preset pack to your phone.
  2. Open the .zip folder → find the DNG files.
  3. Tap each DNG file and choose:
    • “Share → Open in Lightroom”
      or
    • “Save to Files” → then import into Lightroom later
  4. Lightroom will open the DNG as a photo.
  5. Tap the three dots (•••) in the top right.
  6. Tap Create Preset.
  7. Give it a name (e.g., Dawn Chorus).
  8. Tap Save.

Your preset will now appear under:

Presets → User Presets

🎉 You’re ready to start editing!

🍏 iPhone-Specific Notes

  • If your iPhone asks how to open a DNG: choose Lightroom.
  • If the files save to Files/iCloud, just open Lightroom → Add Photos → choose the DNG.

🤖 Android-Specific Notes

  • If the DNG doesn’t open automatically, open Lightroom → Add Photos manually.

đź’» Desktop Users (Mac & Windows)

Use the XMP Files

These are for Lightroom Classic / Lightroom Desktop CC.

To Install XMP Presets

  1. Open Lightroom Desktop.
  2. Go to the Develop tab.
